A break in the clouds

Some weeks Friday just feels so good.  Well my friends, today is one of those Fridays.

A quick post and run today.  First off, nope, no fisheye here.  It will be one of the next two lenses I buy (either the 15mm fisheye or the 24-70 2.8), but I don’t have one yet.  We’ll get to the processing in a second.  A couple weeks ago my wife was going to get her haircut at a place not too far from our house.  I said that I was going to go on a little photowalk in the area where she as going to be ad she could just pick me up when she was done.  As I was wondering around I came across this parking garage that had this view and I couldn’t help but grab a few brackets.  The only thing that I am disappointed about is that about 15 minutes after I took this shot the sky was blue and pink and orange and red, but we were already almost home.  Guess I will just have to go back again.

Ok, so the processing.  This is a nine shot panorama with each image being made up of seven bracketed shots.  I ran them through the batch processor of Photomatix then stitched them with Photoshop.  Did a slight shadow adjustment, and then added a red curves layer for the houses and a yellow one for the sky.  Threw in a Tonal Contrast, Pro Contrast and Turbo Boost filter, corrected the distortion a bit from the panorama to give it a fisheye look and shipped it off to the blog.

Thanks for all the support on the new site this week.  I’ll catch you all on Monday.

Wonderful shot Dave. I like how you used the panorama to create the feeling of a fisheye shot. Well done!

This is really awesome Dave. I actually didn’t think fisheye when I saw this, I thought the street just naturally curved like that. Great job with the processing man, have a great weekend!
