“I love short trips to New York; to me it is the finest three-day town on earth.”
-James Cameron
I share Mr. Cameron’s sentiment here, as I leave this afternoon for three days in New York City. Forecast is calling for a bit of rain tomorrow afternoon (maybe), but other than that it would be beautiful. Let’s just hope that the TSA agent at the X ray machine today is in a good mood and doesn’t mind that I’ve disassembled my tripod to get it to fit into my carry on. I really enjoy traveling, flying, the whole airport experience, but checking bags is just the worst.

Quick post and run today as I am getting some things finished up before I leave. This is a view from the hotel room that we stayed in the last time we were in NYC, at the Marriott Marquis in Times Square. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in that area. I’m actually not quite sure where I’ll be staying this time. Tonight I will be crashing at a friend’s place in Hoboken, but not sure if I am going to stay there through the weekend or grab a hotel in Manhattan. I guess we’ll wait and see.
Pretty simple processing here. This is a five exposure, handheld HDR processed with HDR Efex. Did a bit of masking on the people, but other than that, not many other edits. Just a slight S Curve to increase overall contrast and a very subtle Tonal Contrast filter.
I apologize in advance for my absence on your blogs. I will be sure to catch up on Monday. I hope you all enjoy your weekends.

Love this image of Times Square, awesome. I was there in February this year and lucked up on an 80 degree day. Love the town, lots of action.
There is a pretty awesome Bubba Gump’s in Times Square with great food and drinks.
I share your feelings on air travel. They have taken a lot of the fun out of it. Anyhow, be safe and have a great trip, Dave. Make some memories!
Safe travels and I hope you have a good time in NYC!

have fun Dave and get a lot of pics my friend!!
Nice shot man. That place always amazes me in photos. One day I’ll see it in person.
It is so touch to shoot through windows but the window adds so much to this shot. I haven’t shot in NYC yet but there are literally endless possibilities… Great work.
