All right, off we go back to Ocean City. I kind of like this bouncing around form subject to subject. Don’t get me wrong, series are nice too, but this just keeps it more interesting, keeps you on your toes.

Like I’ve said a couple of times, the sunrise was a little tough to catch during the couple days that we were there. There was always a hefty layer of clouds that covered the horizon, so the sun wasn’t visible right when it came up. Then, in the following hour or so, the clouds stuck around and created this hazy atmosphere, so I wasn’t able to get the sun rays that I wanted on this morning. In a way though, I think it works. The way that the light is so diffused, it has a bit of a soothing effect, something that a shot with the sharp, distinctive sun rays may not have.
Not a whole lot to speak of on the processing side here. Standard HDR settings in Photomatix on this seven exposure HDR, then kicked it over the CS5 and removed the dust spots. Added a Contrast Only filter in Color Efex as well as more of an S curve than I normally do. Did some selective color adjustments to the blues in the sky and that’s about it.
I’ll be working over the next couple days on getting some new shots and galleries up on the website. I have a ton of work that I would really like to display, and I think that I finally will have some time to do it. Pretty excited this weekend too, I have a baby shoot in the morning as well as a live band to shoot at night. Should be fun.
Thanks for the visits, see you all tomorrow.

Love the softness in this one Dave. Sometimes the clouds act like a huge softbox. Great composition with the pier and reflection. Pretty awesome.
Nice scene, Dave. This looks nice and the clouds add a soft touch to the overall image. There are some nice light beams hitting the water also.
Great processing!
I agree with Len…the softness is perfect here. That sunlight is heavenly. Very nice!
Wonderful image Dave!
Thanks Len, I appreciate that!
A few managed to sneak out! Thanks for the visit!

Thanks as always Curt!
One of my faves. Stunning shot and processing Dave.

Great shot. The processing really helps convey a peaceful scene.
Gorgeous! I like this a lot.
Excellent shot Dave! It is so calming and relaxing.
First thing I noticed was how soft overall this is. I think it works very well with the colors and gives it a kinda dreamy feel. Nice job, I like it.
Beautiful shot! Love the pier. I had a shot like that lined up last week, but there were just too many folks around getting in the way…
Wow, my friend, this is absolutely breathtaking! Your processing really adds a huge dreamy effect to the overall scene here. Top drawer!
Just beautiful Dave. I agree with all the comments and I absolutely love the reflections in the sand as the water backs off.
Gorgeous image.
Dave, this is fantastic!! Gives me a “wonderful dream” feeling. i want to stare at it longer but my boss is yelling at me to get some insignificant task done. Absolutely fantastic shot my friend!
