A quick post today, trying to wrap up some stuff at work for the week so that the weekend can be worry free.

Sticking around Kennywood for today. This is the Volcano (I think) which consists of twenty spinning gondolas that eventually reach a ninety degree angle. Seems pretty fun to me. I’ve never really had the opportunity to get a shot like this (with the spinning ride), so I was pretty excited to catch it at the right time during the blue hour. There is no ferris wheel at Kennywood, which would obviously be an ideal shot for something like this.
This is a cropped version of the original seven exposure HDR, as I was a little too far away with the 16-35. I used the +3 tonemapped exposure to mask in the people, and found it interesting that just one lady was standing perfectly still, which came out pretty cool. She doesn’t look overly thrilled to be on the right either. I also did a bit of masking on the light trails, to fix some of the blown out areas created by the long exposure. Decreased overall saturation, added a Tonal Contrast filter to the people, the ride and the trees and called it a day.
I hope that you all enjoy your weekend. For those of you stuck in this heat wave, try to stay cool. See you on Monday.
