Today’s shot is another view from down on the North Shore of Pittsburgh, close to where yesterday’s shot was taken.  There is a little boardwalk facing the Andy Warhol Bridge right down on the Allegheny River that has a few benches and provides a great low angle view of the city.  In the spring, fall and winter it gets pretty impassable, as the rain raises the water level of the river and floods the entire area.  In fact, this is the first time I’ve ever been able to actually make it down on the boardwalk without getting completely soaked in the process.  It had rained earlier that day, so the little puddles on the wood made for some great reflections.  You can see how quickly the blue hour vanishes though, as this was only taken about fifteen minutes after my previous shot.

Started with my standard seven shot HDR processed in Photomatix.  I applied a slight crop because there was a piece of a sculpture in the upper left hand corner that had made its way into the shot that was kind of distracting.  I desaturated the reds and applied an overall S Curve.  In Color Efex, I added a Pro Contrast filter to the entire scene and a 50% Tonal Contrast filter to the water and bridge.  Finished it off with some high pass sharpening to give it that little extra bit of crispness and called it a day.

Thanks for stopping by today, see you tomorrow.

Nice Dave, I like how you captured the bridge in the reflections on the boardwalk

I am so drawn to the reflection in the water on the dock. I’d sit down, but my guess is that bench is rather wet ;)

Wonderful POV and I love this scene. Those boardwalk puddles are especially nice. Great processing as always.
