Good morning and happy Friday to everyone. I hope that you all got through the week all right and that this weekend is relaxing and enjoyable. Well, at least enjoyable. Tomorrow I’ll be attending the Pittsburgh Pirate game and on Sunday a photoshoot about an hour away, so it should be a fun weekend.

A quick post today, as my Friday one’s usually are. This is a different view from the Brooklyn Bridge, the original shot that I was going to get when I stopped to get the light trails from a few days back. I knew there was this spot from my previous visit there, where it almost looked like you were just hovering above the road to get the shot. Throw in whole host of light trails and the lower Manhattan skyline and you’ve got yourself a pretty cool scene.
This is a five exposure HDR processed with Photomatix. In CS5, I straightened it out a bit (although now I’m not sure if I like it, still looks a bit crooked) and masked in the +2 tonemapped exposure for all of the light trails. I also did a bit of masking on the -1 exposure (not tonemapped) to fix the light on the left and the right hand part of the city. Added a Pro Contrast layer to the entire image and then a 75% Tonal Contrast to the bridge and buildings. Did a slight blur curves adjustment to enhance the sky and finally added some high pass sharpening to the entire image.
Like I said, I hope that you all enjoy your weekends. See you on Monday.

Crazy awesome, man. This shot looks like it was taken from one of the bridge cross members. You sure you didn’t climb this bridge for this? LOL
Great shot, Dave. Love the colors and overall scene.

I liked my Brooklyn Bridge picture today but then you go and make it look boring and shabby with this excellent one. Next time we should coordinate, OK?

That’s amazing man! If I didn’t read your description I would have thought you did a spider-man up the bridge to get this!
