Back to port

Ahh, the sweet smell of Friday…who doesn’t love when another weekend approaches?  Especially when that weekend is filled with a photography shoot at a rock show (tonight), an all afternoon beer tasting (tomorrow), Oktoberfest (tomorrow night), football (tomorrow and Sunday) and a belated birthday dinner with the family (Sunday).  Should be a pretty fun weekend.

Today’s shot is one of those that I’m not sure why I didn’t post it with my other shot of the Brooklyn Bridge a month or so back when I first returned from New York.  I really like this view from the South Street Seaport of the Manhattan side of the Brooklyn Bridge as well as the Manhattan Bridge in the background with the New York skyline running up the side of the shot.  You also can’t see the construction that is happening on the bridge, as it is farther off to the right of the bridge.

This is a seven exposure HDR processed with Photomatix and then edited with Photomatix.  There was a pretty heavy vignette from the lens so the first thing I did was dodge the midtones at 50% around the border of the image.  I then applied a Color Cast Removal and Pro Contrast filter in Color Efex, as well as a Blue Dawn Leonidas and Turbo Boost in onOne PhotoTools.  I masked in the blue lights at the very back of the shot, as they were a bit blown out from the HDR process and applied some High Pass sharpening to the bridges.  Finally, I added a global S Curve and a slight crop to finish it off.

I hope you all enjoy your weekends…thanks for stopping by.

I like the soft light feel to this image. I see you use OnOne Photo tools. I must try these filters myself. Good job Dave
