Heart and soul

Well, I think that fall is officially here in western Pennsylvania.  I know that it literally is fall as of September 22nd, but there is something that seemed to click with the weather too.  Leafs are all of a sudden changing color and starting to fall, there is a certain crispness in the air and I bought my first case of pumpkin beer (Dogfish Head Punkin Ale, which is delicious).  It’s a great time of year to be a photographer (well, what time isn’t a great time)and I look forward to getting out to take full advantage of this beautiful season soon.

Today we head to Polish Hill in Pittsburgh and to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church.  This was one of the stops that we made the day the Mike “Theaterwiz” Criswell and Pete Talke of Places2Explore came to town, a place that wasn’t even really on the list to make it to that day.  We were driving around the Strip District when someone noticed the dome of the church poking above the trees.  We made our way up, only to find that there was a mass going on.  We hung around outside for a little bit, asked the priest’s permission (which he happily granted) and we were off to bracket away.  The shot above is from the choir loft looking towards the front of the church.  Below is a collection of others.

Thanks for stopping by today everyone and I’ll see you tomorrow.

Wow, Dave!
These are gorgeous photos, man. Love all the lines and textures. I particularly like that 4th shot of the dome. Great stuff!

Like you, I so look forward to capturing nature’s beauty that will be shown this Fall season.

Fantastic shots Dave! These are all beautiful but the colors and symmetry in the image from the altar are incredible.
