Good morning everyone and happy Wednesday. Half way through the week on our way to the weekend.

Today’s images are from the same place on a couple separate occasions over the summer, Market Square at PPG Place in downtown Pittsburgh. Market Square is a great place for photographers, not just because of all the buildings at PPG Place reflecting everything from the sun, clouds and neighboring buildings, but also for people watching. I’ve captured quite a few candids down there including street performs, people giving gospels, and everything in between. There has also been a ton of construction done recently in and around this area to make much more enjoyable. The above image was taken with my rented fisheye at the beginning of the summer, standing in one of the corners of the Square. I really liked the effect it gave, how all the buildings seemed to bend like trees in the wind.

This image I took only about a month back and if you look at the right hand side of the first shot, you can actually see the fire escapes from the second. We were waiting at one of the tables for my Dad to get off work so we could head over the Pirate’s game when the steps and shadows caught my eye and I couldn’t resist grabbing a shot.
Thanks for stopping by today, see you tomorrow.

Okay, that fire escape shot is badass. Love that you were able to catch the shadow like that. Great stuff right there!

I love both shots Dave but there’s something about the fire escape shot that is totally awesome. The reflection, your compositiom…love it all.

A great pair. The bowed buildings is a clever use of a fisheye lens, but the second image is in a different league! Vertical slices of building like layers end on, but the fire escape is a scene grabber. Love it!

The patterns formed by the fire escape and its shadow are awesome. Great job creating this composition.
