I wanted to start off my saying thanks to all the support here on HDR Exposed, my Facebook page, twitter and Google+ you all gave on my post about being published yesterday. All of your comments, kind words, well wishes, likes, retweets and +1’s were very much appreciated!

Today we head back to the epicenter of tourist-ness in New York , Times Square for a quick post. Other than people, cameras and taxis, one of the most readily available thing in TS is signs, from street signs, to Broadway signs to hotel signs, you can’t look around and not see thousands of them, and one of my favorite set are the ones that are on the Double Tree Hotel. I’ve posted a few different versions throughout the last year here on my blog, but the one above was shot at night with the 50mm, a handheld five exposure HDR. Neon was made for HDR and I was certainly happy to oblige.

This shot is actually not an HDR (shocking, I know). Again taken with the 50mm, I just thought that it was pretty cool that the street sign didn’t give a street name, just merely said Times Square. Not that you needed any hint as to where you were standing.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. Have a great weekend and I’ll catch you on Monday.

Excellent shot Dave, the colors and textures are fantastic and the post title is a perfect match! The second shot is pretty telling by itself – only one way to go…Times Square!

I love Times Square and that top HDR of the signs. Like bugs at night, you can’t help but be drawn to the signs.
Both shots are nicely done, Dave. Fine work.
Have a great weekend, man.

Both are nice shots, but I’m drawn to the second one. Something about seeing a sign for Times Square with some power lines behind it just gets me.

Well, you know I love me some of Dave’s NYC photos!
Dave these are great shots. The details and colors in the first one are spot on. However I really like the 2nd one for some reason slightly more. Maybe it’s the simple message it conveys. Excellent work nonetheless.

Awesome shots Dave. I love them both for different reasons. The first one just works so well as an HDR but I also love the second one. Excellent composition.
