Friday fun

 

 

So today we head back to the HDRs and Kennywood Park, the local amusement park just outside of Pittsburgh.  I went there one evening over the summer to grab some shots and test out the rented fisheye that I had at the time and while it was supposed to rain that night, it held off just long enough for me to grab some pretty cool shots.  You can check below each shot for a description and click on any image to view large.

 

I actually posted a shot similar to this view a few months back, it was just more off the the right, behind those paddle boats.  I really like how you can see the reflections from the Skycoaster, a bungee jumping type ride.  What you see right above the platform is the rope swinging back and forth as it comes in for a landing.

 

This is the Jackrabbit, an old wooden roller coaster beloved to many in Pittsburgh.

 

The Skyrocket is the newest roller coaster in the park, located right next to the entrance

 

 

This is the same lake from the first shot, just from a slightly different angle and taken a little later at night, after the blue hour had faded

 

The Music Express is a nauseating, yet very enjoyable ride that just spins you around while blasting music.  The German above the sign says “Everything goes better with music”

 

What would an amusement park be without some games?

 

This is the fountain that is located in “Old Kennywood” 

 

All HDRs were processed with Photomatix and then various adjustment levels in Photoshop were added, including filters from Color Efex and onOne PhotoToosl.
