As I said last week, I wanted to start posting more candids than I have been recently, so here is this week’s installment. I saw this couple weeks back down at the campus of the University of Pittsburgh when my dad and I were out shooting. He was framing a shot of the Cathedral of Learning from the outside when I saw these two relaxing on a bench. Originally they were sitting like two people normally sit on a bench, side by side, but after a few minutes, when I turned back around, they were posed like this. I moved around to get to a little bit of a better angle and snapped away.
On to the process. Single RAW opened in Camera RAW. I lowered the Saturation to -70 and increased Vibrance to 15. Lowered Contrast to -25 and increased Clarity just a pinch to 10. Opened in PhotoTools and applied a slight Omaha Beach filter (10) and Golden Hour Enhancer (20) to give it a glow. In Color Efex I added just a Tonal Contrast filter to only the highlights and a bit more desaturation to get the final result.
Thanks for stopping by everyone. See you all tomorrow.

I’m diggin this. I like how you can tell there are other people lying down on the grass behind them, but the dof won’t let you make out all the details. Nicely captured.

What a moment! Great capture.
Hmm… I think I need to check out EFex plugin. Look like many photographers are using it. It must be good!
