It seems like for the few months after I come back from a trip to New York I keep finding more and more pictures that I want to post and I say to myself, how did I forgot about these? Well, today is one of those days, as we head back to the Big Apple for a few shots that I came upon last night and couldn’t help but process and share.
All of the shots today are from Central Park, starting with the one at the beginning of the post, which was taken at the very bottom of Central Park, overlooking the Pong towards the Plaza Hotel. I liked how the city seemed to be growing out from the trees; it almost gives a sense of the city being overgrown with the Park.
The next one is from a random spot in Central Park and to be honest I’m not exactly sure where. I was walking along when the sun caught my eye through the trees and I snapped off five quick brackets. I wish that I would have composed it a little better, without the tree on the right hand side, but I still like the shot.
Lastly today we have the Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis Reservoir, which takes up about 20% of Central Park and located just above the midway point. It really is kind of amazing how you can be walking down these little paths, through what seems like endless trees, when all of a sudden everything opens up and you can see the skyline on the other side of this huge reservoir. Thought I would throw another sunflare in for good measure. You can also see the fountain just off to the right in the center of the frame.
I know that I’ve been a little lax on the processing steps lately, but since I’ve been posting so many images, I would end up with four page blog posts to explain everything. If anyone has any questions about how I get to the final looks in my images, just shoot me a note and I’d be happy to answer.
Thanks for stopping by today everything. See you tomorrow.
P.S. Only 10 more days until we head to Dallas to see the Cowboys play! I can’t wait!
Great work Dave! That last shot is simply epic 🙂
Awesome series Dave. I think the middle shot is sick. Great color and shadows.
Great set Dave, love the last shot of JKO reservoir.
Love this set, Dave and the processing is spot on, man. Really like the first one, so awesome. Nice work.
I’m heading to NY again soon. There is so much there, we could never capture it all. 🙂
Love these shots Dave, especially the second one. Perfect combination of light and shadows.
gorgeous shots, Dave! The first image is my fave – i like how the trees framed the buildings plus the reflection.
Digging the soft focus processing. Good stuff Dave.
Great shots Dave and I actually really like the tree on the right hand side of the second image. It frames it nicely.
I like the soft and dreamy feel to these. Looks cool.
Love the glass like feel to the water in the first image. Top stuff mate!
Beautiful shots Dave!! I miss this city more and more everytime I see your work here. Well done as always!
