Return to the city

So I’m not sure if it’s the fact that I’ve been waiting all week to have tomorrow off or if it’s really been a busy week, but I feel like this week has been more insane that usual.  Just a few more hours to get through and then the weekend is here!

Today I thought that I would switch it up a little bit and head back to New York city.  I’ve been sitting on these shots for a while, wondering if/when I was going to post these shots and thought that today would be as good of a day as any.  This is the DUMBO area of New York at the lower end of Brooklyn, by the Manhattan Bridge.  Now, I’ve posted a few different views from down in this area in previous posts, but I still liked how these came out.

I actually used Perfect Effects for both of these shots, including the B&W one.  Originally I started that one in Silver Efex 2, but I just couldn’t get the look I was going for.  Fired up PE3 and I was on my way!

Thanks for stopping by today everyone.  See you all tomorrow.

Love these, Dave. The B&W really looks great, man. That street scene is pretty cool too.

I’ll be in that area in about 10 days, can’t wait.

Cool little series here. I love how you used the streetscape to frame the bridge in the background. Great comp.

Great shots! I really, really enjoyed that mono shot. I love how it fills the frame and yet still has so much depth to it.

Great images Dave. That mono shot is sick. A big time favorite.

You’ve got some amazing detail in the B&W version and the composition conveys the strength and size of this structure. Great shot
