Good morning everyone!
For today’s post we head back over to Station Square on the south shore of Pittsburgh. While it isn’t quite as photogenic as the North Shore, it still provides a unique view of the Steel City and one of my favorite bridges, the Smithfield Street Bridge. I’ve featured the front of the bridge before in a fisheye view but I had never shot this angle of the bridge until a few weeks ago and I will definitely be stopping back!
This is a seven exposure HDR processed with Photomatix. I first had to mask in the front, yellow part of the bridge as it was a bit blown out with the -2 exposure. I did some selective color adjustments on the warm tones to cool off the bricks below the bridge and added a blue layer adjustment curve to help the sky stand out. In Perfect Effects I added a Dreamland and Contrast Only filter and polished it off with a Tonal Contrast filter from Color Efex on everything but the sky and then some noise reduction to the sky itself.
Thanks for stopping by today folks. See you tomorrow.

I really dig those lights spanning with the arches of the bridge. That front of the bridge is quite bright which makes for a challenging shot without brackets. Nicely done!

This is beautifully processed Dave. The composition is spot on too. One of my favourites for sure.
