Good morning everyone! I can’t believe that Christmas is only ten days away. It seems like 2011 has gone by so fast! I hope that you all have been enjoying your holiday season so far!

Today’s images are not from the North Shore, as the previous few posts have been, but from the South Side of Pittsburgh, located along the banks of the Monongahela. These two images specifically were taken from the very end of the South Side in the area called Station Square, just under the 10 Street Bridge. I also decided to stash the wide angle away for a second and utilize the two other lenses that I own, the 70-200 f2.8 and the 50 f1.4. The top one was taken with the zoom, focusing on one of the most iconic set of buildings in Pittsburgh, PPG Place. The second also features PPG Place, but since it was taken with the 50mm, you also get to see a bit more of the skyline. The only thing that I don’t really like about shooting from this side of the city, particularly from Station Square, is that there are train tracks that run along the river that prevent you from setting up exactly how you want. There is a pier down below the train tracks, which I may try to get to over the summer.
Thanks for stopping by today, see you all tomorrow!
