Morning everyone!
Well, I finally got Lightroom working, thanks to fellow photog John Maffei, who was gracious enough to spend an hour on the phone with me troubleshooting the problem. Turns out it was a permissions issue that occurred when I upgraded to Lion last week. For some reason, a new user was added to all of my images called ‘Fetching’ which was preventing me from having access to move the pictures around. I just restored an earlier backup (which was the same as the Lion backup) and voila! All fixed! I am loving Lightroom so far, and although it is going to take some time to organize all 60,000+ pictures in my photo library, I think that it will be some time really well spent.
Continuing with the Christmas theme this week (sorry I’ve been digging through the archives so much, just haven’t spent a lot of time on new shots with all the computer issues), this is a series I took last year on a photowalk around town with Pittsburgh photog Brad Truxell. We headed downtown the weekend after Thanksgiving on a very frigid day to capture some of the festivities in and around the city. Our first stop (and most productive!) was the Market Square/PPG Place area, where we grabbed some brackets of the ice skating rink and the Christmas tree. I even threw in a self portrait. I also snagged a shot of the Christmas tree in the center of downtown on one of the department stores.
Thanks for stopping by this morning folks. See you tomorrow.
Great shots Dave. The images are so well processed and I love your self-portrait. Glad the Lightroom issue worked it’s way out.
very cool Dave, love all those lights and how you have handled them, and glad to hear you got LR working properly!
Really great shots Dave. Christmas in the city at night is just so beautiful with all the lights. You’ve captured it perfectly. I love the tree in the first shot and terrific self portrait.
Totally awesome, Dave. These are fantastic. I really like the last one with the reflective image in the window. Cool stuff, man.
Glad you’ve got your computer issues settled out, that’s such a disruptive bummer. Nice digging through the archives. You’ve unearthed some real winners. 🙂
Nice shots Dave! I like the reflective photo at the end.
Very festive pics Dave.
That’s very cool. Love the light. Wonder how long that took.
Cracking shots Dave. Full of life and sparkle! Glad you’re getting the hang of Lightroom.
Great shots Dave – really brings the season alive.
Congrats on LR, you will love it, glad I started my library early, 60,000 is gonna take some work, love the first shot in this series
