Well, today is it. My last day at work until January 3rd. I look forward to this time every year, as I always taken off the time between Christmas and New Years. With a change to the vacation policy at my job this year, I was the beneficiary of several extra days off, which I am using this week. I will still be around the blogging world, just not at work, and I can’t tell you how excited I am for that! It will be my most time off since switching to this job over three years ago.

Today’s post is a couple more images from my photowalk a few Fridays ago around downtown Pittsburgh. I made a stop at PPG Place, home of one of the Christmas trees in Pittsburgh as well as the ice skating rink that is installed every year. Although it wasn’t that busy earlier in the evening (above shots), the line to get on the ice was wrapped halfway around the rink when I stopped back later in the night (below shot). Not only is it a great place to shoot HDRs with all the lights and the reflections, the skaters going around add an extra element to the shot.

Thanks for stopping by today folks. See you all tomorrow.

Great shots Dave! I’m jealous of all the time off you get, enjoy it! Great processing on these, nice and bright but balanced well with the Christmas lights. (seems like a tricky range to capture, well done) I’m inspired to try some similar shots downtown at our skating rink.

Well done Dave! Congrats on the time off, you deserve it! I decided to preserve my leave this year, and am only 1 of a few people in the office! More time to do photography stuff! I love the pictures! The one thing I am not a fan of is the motion blur in the last one. Not to nit pick, just like the fluidity of motion blur better. I screw this up all the time. haha. Anyways, happy holidays buddy, have a great week!
