Finding the path

First off, a quick apology for not really being around, well, really at all last week.  Like I mentioned a couple of weeks back, I had been chosen to fulfill my civic duty as a juror and the nature of the case (which was criminal) was a little emotionally draining, so I ended up just going home each night after almost ten hours in the courthouse and crashing.

Today’s images are a collection of some from in and around Pittsburgh a few Saturdays ago when we had all the snow in the city.  I don’t think that I consciously did it at the time, but I caught a few different paths in the various parts of the city, so I thought that I would share them.

The first image above is from just below PNC Park, along the North Shore walkway just before the Allegheny River meets the Monongahela (or “Mon” as it is affectionately known here) to form the Ohio.  In the distance is the Ft. Duquesne Bridge.

Next is the same walkway, just a little bit earlier in the morning and a bit farther down, closer to Heinz Field.  I had never really seen the sky like it was that morning, with the vibrant pink and purple tones to it, which contrasted really nicely in the snow.

Still on the North Shore, this is the Boardwalk that I’ve featured many times here on HDR Exposed.  This image was actually captured on January 2nd, but it fit the theme so I wanted to include it!

This is just a slight variation on an image from my last post from the University of Pittsburgh.  Same path, just from the other side looks towards Heinz Chapel.

Finally we have another image from Pitt’s campus up in Oakland.  The snow had finally stopped and since it was starting to melt on the sidewalk due to the application of salt, it gave some pretty cool reflections.

I definitely will be catching up on everyone’s work today and tonight.  Good to be back!

Thanks for stopping by today folks!

Welcome back Dave. Wonderful collection of images. I really love the last shot from Pitt’s campus. That red door on the right is a perfect splash of color.

Welcome back Dave! I’ve never been through a criminal trial but can imagine how draining it could be.

Great set Dave. I like the way there are no people in the shots. Makes it seem like a ghost town!

Court can be draining. Glad to see you back. The UPitt campus looks very cool. Love the red doors to the chapel.

Welcome back Dave, and a really nice series of images. I’m digging the boardwalk shot with the light coating of snow.

All that snow. It seems like it would be kinda cool to be in a big city and see all the snow – Don’t laugh, We don’t get snow here. :) The only time I have ever personally seen snow is in the mountains. Nice set of images.
