Since I have inadvertently started a bit of a sports stadium theme this week, I thought that I would just keep it rolling through today, just switch up sports, with some images of PNC Park.
The home of the Pirates, who have set the mark for futility in professional sports with 19 consecutive losing seasons, have called the stadium home since 2001 and it has been considered ever since its opening one of the best parks in America. With a view of the Pittsburgh skyline visible from virtually everywhere except a few hundred seats, it’s an outstanding place to watch a baseball game. Even if you aren’t paying full attention to the game, for the low price of a ticket, it can be a great place to relax on a warm summer night, like the first shot above.

Comt to think of it, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a baseball field covered in snow! What a sweet shot. Pretty cool they let people in there!
Great images Dave. Love the compositions and the colors.

Lovely work Dave
I like how you can see the moon in the top shot!
Cool shots Dave! I would not have thought you’d be able to get that far into the stadium during the off season.
Really nice images, Dave. Nice to see the facility in two different weather seasons. That’s real cool that they allow access during the off-season, provides a good opportunity to grab some shots.

Awesome idea. Interesting contrast between seasons.

These are great Dave. So cool that they let people in when there aren’t any games going on. I wish more landmarks would allow this.
Nice series Dave. Great processing as usual
Awesome Dave. You’re right I don’t think I’ve ever scene a baseball field covered in snow. Wonderful images. Love them both.
Cool images Dave. It looks so depressing now.

That’s cool that they let you in when it’s closed. Cool shots man. Like the little moon in the first one.
What I like best is the wide view over the field

What a lovely “now and then”
I really like how you composed the images to get that wide view of the field

Nice set, Dave. I had no idea they let people into PNC Park when it wasn’t open. I even went shooting there this weekend and asked myself why the doors were open. Guess I need to take a trek back down there soon.
Very nice set Dave! Great shots! Cool story of how you got the winter shot!
