Closely focused

Every once in a while it is good to switch things up and today is one of those days, for a couple reasons actually.  First off, I think that is can help break out of a rut if we do something a little different.  Keeps the creative thoughts flowing, the imagination active.  Secondly, and more of the reason for this specific post, is that sometimes you just fall behind.  With the busy week I had at work last week and preparing for my wife’s surprise birthday on Sunday, I have a ton of pictures waiting to be processing, just haven’t gotten to them yet.  So I dug out a few from the archives to share, all with a similar theme.

We’ll start out with one of my favorite non HDR shots that I have, which I took at a local bar while waiting for a Penguin game to start.  I had my camera with me, just messing around with some depth of field and really like the result!  Anyone want to take a guess as to what’s inside?

Next we have one taken not too far from the bar that the previous image was taken at, just on a different day.  I don’t do many abstract type shots so I thought that I would give one a try.

Finally we have the top of my uncle’s 1986 Camaro after a light rain storm.  The sun had come out and it was like a field of bokeh!

Thanks for stopping by today guys, hopefully I’ll get caught up tonight with my edits!

Nice work here Dave! Love the simplicity of the shots but how they still convey quite a bit of info! Well done!

Very nice shots Dave. LOve that first one. Nicely composed and terrific boken. I don’t even like beer but I think I would partake of this one.

Very creative shots Dave. I’m in a creative rut myself right now, and will definitely take inspiration from these images to get the juices flowing again.

Excellent work on these, Dave. I really like them.

Couldn’t agree more, man. We all need to change things up from time to time. As you say, keeps that creativity flowing. Nice job, man.

I too like this series – that has to be Guinness in the first shot.

Thanks what I call macro! What lens/filter did you use to get that bokah? When I go macro, usually stuff in the background just blurs.

Can’t go wrong with the first shot. That last shot though is just plain cool looking!

great stuff Dave, definitely good to mix it up! love that first shot of the Guinness – which reminds me that you will love the pics I took at the Guinness factory in Dublin (when I get to them, that is!) well done my friend!

Great idea to change things up Dave! I try and do that as often as I remember. Sometimes the good ol Landscape shot can get dull (I know, crazy!). Nice work as usual my firend!
