Light and shadow

Good morning everyone!  I hope that you all had a great weekend!

Today’s post is going to be a bit brief, as I am headed to New York City on Friday and have a  busy week ahead of me until I leave!  These are a couple shots that were taken from the Duquesne Incline on Mt. Washington, on the same day that many of shots of the Civic Arena that I shared last week were from.  If you remember, the clouds were a photographer’s dream that day and I couldn’t resist making the trek up the higher vantage point!  I really liked the way that Mt. Washington cast a shadow over part of the city in the one above, taken with my 50mm, which is the perfect focal length for capturing the city from this angle.

The second shot features a Pittsburgh icon, one of the inclines that carries commuters, tourists and anyone else would wants to make the trip from the bottom of Mt. Washington to the top.  Peaking in the left side of the frame is Heinz Field, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers as well!  I shared this view a few months ago as well, except that the whole area was covered in snow!  I will certainly be back here once the leaves start to come in too.

Thanks for stopping by today folks, see you all tomorrow.

These are really awesome, man. I like how that trolley car stands out in the 2nd shot. Both shots are wonderful. You caught a nice dramatic sky as well. Nice work.ReplyCancel

Sweet shot man! It’s crazy how close the water is the edge there. It almost looks like if it was a couple inches higher it would overwhelm the road. Pretty neat.ReplyCancel
