I’ve always said that Times Square is one of my favorite places in New York City. Not necessarily to hang out in, but at least walk through on a few occasions whenever I am there. I know that most people who live in the city can be pretty annoyed by it, since it is, for the most part, tourists stopping every two feet to take pictures. But it is something that you can find in very few cities, especially Pittsburgh. A collection of lights, sounds, theaters, restaurants, all kinds of other stores and thousands and thousands of people, all crammed into one place. The energy there just radiates from the streets and the lights, like the city really is alive.
This is a shot that I’ve taken my last couple of trips into the city, and one reason why I like this view so much is that the signs are always changing. I believe this is my fourth pickture from this exact spot and they all look entirely different. Aside from all of the cabs and people screeching by, my favorite part of this shot is the man right in the middle taking a picture. The funny thing is, I didn’t have to mask him in at all. He literally stood there, perfectly still, taking whatever shot he is taking, during all seven of my bracketed shots. It was like he was completely oblivious to the world around him! To add to the shot, it had just rained, so the streets were reflecting even more of the color.
Thanks for swinging by today folks, see you all tomorrow.

You’ve captured the Times Square are perfectly Dave. Brilliant color.
I’m with you, Dave. I love this particular part of NYC. The colorful signs are really grab your attention and provide a boost of energy. Perhaps they’ve become just part of the scene for residents there but I get a boost from Times Sq and the surrounding area.
This is an awesome shot here, man. Love the processing on this. Great shot!
How does anyone sleep with all these lights glowing in their windows? This is crazy!
Love the motion in the foreground Dave!
Wonderful shot Dave! Love the motion! Great work!
Very nice shot. Superb
Love this shot Dave. The man in the middle taking pictures provides great contrast to all the movement around him, and adds so much to the image.
Great capture, Dave. The movement along with the static element(s) is fantastic.
Very cool man. Like the look of it.
I love the motion of the vehicles and the stillness of the people. Terrific. Nice bit of PP too.
Great shot Dave, really like the reflections
Ahhh…love Times Square…maybe because I don’t live there. Excellent shot Dave. I love the motion and the fact that you caught a yellow cab is a bonus.
As the sign says “Outrageous Fun!” It’s always fun to capture the night life around Times Square. It’s only a couple of blocks from where I usually stay and at least one night during my stays I venture out after dinner to see the lights.
Love all the posters
Sorry I haven’t been by as often as I would like, some troubles and worries privately
I love this! This is actually a great shot! I am sure a lot of people will be very interested to see this place in real life..
