Good morning everyone! Today we return to the HDRs and head down to the Brooklyn Bridge, where I ventured for sunrise on my recent trip to New York. I actually was a little bit late (took the wrong trolley) so I wasn’t there as early as I would have liked, but still really happy with the shots that I did get. After shooting for an hour or so (those shots to come at a later date) I made my walk over the Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan. It’s such an interesting mix of people on the bridge, especially during a heavy commute time like morning rush hour. From people who are exercising, both on bikes and on foot, to hipsters on their bikes with baskets on the front (no doubt holding some PBR), to businessmen and women on bikes, it’s certainly an interesting crowd!
As I was walking off the bridge, the light came through the archway at such a great angle, that I couldn’t resist throwing the 16-35mm on and snapping some brackets. I know that the lens flare is a little distracting (forgot the lens hoods at home…d’oh!) but I am still a big fan of the shot. I had to wait out a line of people before grabbing the shot, but it was worth it!
Thanks for stopping by today folks. See you all tomorrow!

Excellent image Dave. I can’t believe you were able to get that shot with no people in it. I always don’t have the patience. Worth the wait though.
What a wicked flare in this great shot, man. Love it!
Awesome POV as well.
Really unique POV Dave!
Sweet shot Dave!Love that flare! Great work!
Wow, amazing you got this area with no people. Love the big bridge towers on this bridge. This shows the size well.
Wicked shot! The lines on the ground leading into the light is damn cool!
Really digging this shot Dave. It’s a terrific composition, and the sunburst is awesome.
Great POV. How long did you have to wait for all the people to move out of the way? Very cool shot.
Very nice framing, I like that the sun is placed in a natural frame
This is stunning, Dave. Really gorgeous shot.
