Sky high

Good morning everyone and happy Friday!

Yesterday I had the opportunity to make it back up to the 58th floor (4 floors from the top) of the Steel Building in downtown Pittsburgh.  The last time that I was on the roof and shooting towards the Point (pictured above) it was a really overcast day.  Just, however, it was just gorgeous.  I was there for about a half hour and took almost 300 shots, all of them HDRs.  I’ll be working on putting together a panorama as well as some other shots, but I wanted to at least share this a few!  The one below shows all the progress (if you can call it that) on the demolition of the Civic Arena.  When you compare that to some of my earlier shots of it, you can see how quickly it came down!  CONSOL Energy Center is pictured here as well.

These were both shots through a window, so I know that I have some reflections/glares present.  I think that they get hidden nicely in the city however and aren’t that distracting to the image!

I hope that you all have a great weekend!  See you on Monday!

The images from this vantage point have been awesome Dave. They give a wonderful perspective to the city that you don’t get elsewhere.

Both of these shots are awesome, Dave. They both have so many things to love about them. Well done, sir!

Have a great weekend, man.

I’m gettin’ dizzy just looking at these… they’re great, Dave.

HDR Express and 32Float have a “Veiling Glare” filter that seems to cut through haze pretty well. I wonder if that might work for you?

Lovin’ you shots from these high vantage points!

You ever get vertigo in some of these places man?

Very cool shot, love the sky.

Beautiful views and images Dave. Terrific shot.

What a great view! If there is reflection I don’t see it.

It was a perfect shot. I do not know what exact work I could call, but I really admire. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Again a fine set

I can’t even see the glare! That view is pretty sick, and it has been cool to see the progression of the gutting of the arena.

Terrific set, I especially like the first one.

I grew up about two hours south of Pittsburgh in West Virginia and have many fond memories of trips to Three Rivers to see a game or the Civic Arena to see a concert.

This is a great view of the city. Can’t really notice the glare. Great depth to the shot, I almost feel like I am on the 58th of the Steel Building with you.
