Well, I kind of do, I suppose. It can be relaxing to sleep in! I do enjoy the Eddie Rabbitt song though! Anyways, today’s images are from a rainy night in New York City back in April when I last visited. I was a little worried when I first looked at the forecast, as it looked like gloomy days were going to plague the trip, but I only ended up getting rained on one evening, so that worked out! The first shot about is from the Mall in Central Park. I know, I know, there is a big glare from a drop of water on the lens, but it was coming down pretty hard and it was all I could do to keep my gear and lens relatively dry!

Working our way back down Manhattan, this is the Astro Restaurant, located on 56th Street. The reason that I stopped to take a picture of a random diner was because somehow, last summer, my brother and I somehow ended up here after the bars closed. Not sure how or why, but I know it was delicious!

This is a shot just a few blocks up from Times Square and you can see it glowing in the distance. My favorite part of this shot however, is the Broadway sign reflecting on the upper right.

Last but not least, we make our way to Times Square. There were just too many colors and reflections going on here not to capture and HDR!
Thanks for stopping by today everyone. See you all tomorrow!

Terrific shots Dave. There’s something about the last image that I really, really like. The empty tables juxtaposed against the crowd entering the store. Love it!
Beautiful shots of NYC Dave. Outstanding. I think HDR really does a great job on wet surfaces as you have proven in these images.
Love the lights of NY in the rain!
Really like how you captured the wet feel in these images. And as usual, your color treatment is great.
Awesome series of shots, Dave!
NY at it’s finest. Nicely done, I like the feel of these.
Great shots Dave. Sometimes the rain really brings out the best in a city and NYC in the rain is pretty special.
The joy of wet roads – at night they really add some gorgeous reflections. You’ve exploited them perfectly here. The first and last are particularly good. I love those red chairs in the road in the last one. Excellent set, Dave.
This is sweet Dave!
these are cool Dave, nice work!
The colors here are amazing especially in photo 1. I suffer from I don’t have anything to shoot. but you’ve shown me that simply isn’t true.
